Removing the front door card on a Ford Focus Mk2
This article covers how to remove the front door card (door trim panel) on a Ford Focus Mk2.

For this job, you will need a flat-blade screwdriver, a long 8mm socket, and a TORX T25 key. It is also advisable to have a pair of pliers ready to extract any metal retaining clips that may remain in the door frame when the trim is removed.
Start by removing the tweeter protection mesh. Before doing this, do not forget to lower the window.

Pull the mesh towards you.

It is held in place by clips only. Now, take the TORX T25 key and unscrew the retaining bolt.

Proceed to remove the inner trim cover.

Try not to damage the clips; work carefully as they are easily lost. The tweeter triangle needs to be removed. If you do this carefully and do not lose the clips, they can be reinstalled later. Next, carefully insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the gap in the armrest.

Lift the screwdriver upwards, then pull the lower part of the armrest towards you.

Take the 8mm socket and begin unscrewing the two bolts that secure the door card.

Disconnect all electrical connectors.

Now, carefully, trying not to damage the trim, pry up the surround (bezel) of the door opening handle.

Once you have pried it loose, slowly pull it towards you.

Continue until the surround disengages.

Once disengaged, slide it forward off the handle. Now pull the door card towards you by the indicated grip until the corner releases.

You should hear the clicks of the retaining clips releasing.

If some clips remain stuck in the metal door frame,

they must be extracted using pliers.

This is what a clip looks like before installation into the door card;

this type of clip will slot into the metal hole without any issues. Before reinstalling the door card,

insert any missing clips back into the trim panel.

Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order.
