Toyota RAV4 Fuse Replacement

Replacing fuses on a Toyota RAV4 (3rd generation, 2012) is a straightforward task. You will only need low-profile mini fuses of the same amperage as the blown ones.

The RAV4 has two fuse boxes: the first is located under the bonnet near the battery, and the second is in the passenger compartment under the dashboard, to the right of the bonnet release lever. A fuse puller and a layout diagram are usually attached to the cover of the engine bay fuse box. If the puller is missing, insulated needle-nose pliers will work.

Remove the suspected blown fuse. Inspect it against the light: if the metal strip inside is broken, it has blown. If the fusible link looks intact visually but you still have suspicions, the element should be replaced with a new one anyway.

Before installing a new fuse, you must rectify the cause of the old one blowing.
The new fuse must be of exactly the same amperage as the previous one.
Replacement in the passenger compartment fuse box is performed in the same way.
